What We Aim For
This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at level AA. That is the standard UK public sector sites are held to, and it is a reasonable bar for anyone else.
We have not had the site independently audited, so this is a statement of how it is built and what we have checked, not a certificate. Where something falls short, we would rather say so than imply otherwise. The same approach runs through the building services pages.
How It Is Built
Every page works with a keyboard alone. There is a skip link to the main content as the first focusable item, focus is always visible, and nothing is reachable by mouse only.
Headings run in order and describe the content under them, so a screen reader's heading list is a usable table of contents. Landmarks mark the header, the navigation, the main content and the footer.
Text and interface colours are checked against the WCAG contrast thresholds as part of the build, and the build fails if a pair falls below its target. Text reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels and at 200 percent zoom. Every meaningful image carries alternative text and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
Form fields carry proper labels for assistive technology even where the visible hint sits inside the field. Errors are described in words next to the field rather than by colour alone.
Movement is modest and anything that animates respects the reduced motion setting in your operating system. Nothing flashes and nothing auto-plays with sound.
Known Limitations
The map embed on the contact page is a third-party component from Google and we do not control its internal accessibility. It is loaded only when you choose to load it, and nothing on the site depends on using it.
Some generated photographs carry alternative text describing the scene rather than every detail within it. Where an image is purely decorative it is marked as such.
Telling Us When It Fails
If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, email info@rcrobuilding.uk and describe what happened, which page it was on and what you were using. We will fix it and tell you when it is done.
If you cannot use the quote form for any reason, send the same information by email instead and the enquiry is handled identically. You can also reach us through the contact us page.

Tell us about the job and we will put you in contact with a trade who does that work in your area.
- Costs you nothing and commits you to nothing
- Detail helps: drawings, photographs, a rough budget
- The trade quotes you directly, not us
