Who This Policy Is From
RCRO Building operates the website at rcrobuilding.uk. This policy explains what we do with information you give us through the site, who else sees it and what you can ask us to do about it.
RCRO Building is a lead generation site. We do not carry out building work. When you send an enquiry, the purpose of collecting your details is to pass them to a trade who can carry out that work in your area, and that sharing is the central thing this policy is about. What We Collect
Through the quote form: your name, your email address, your phone number, your postcode and whatever you write in the message. You choose what goes in the message, so please do not put anything in it you would not want passed on.
Automatically, when any page loads: your IP address, your browser and device type, the page you were on, the page that referred you, and any campaign parameters in the link you followed. We record the date and time a form is submitted alongside the submission.
We do not ask for and do not want special category data. That means nothing about health, ethnicity, religion, politics, sex life, trade union membership or biometrics. If a job involves an accessible bathroom or a home adaptation, describe the work rather than the condition.
Why We Are Allowed To Use It
For passing your enquiry to a trade, the lawful basis is the steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in running a lead generation service. You sent the enquiry in order to be contacted, and being contacted is what we do with it.
For spam filtering, rate limiting and keeping the site secure, the lawful basis is our legitimate interest in not being overrun by automated submissions.
For any cookie that is not strictly necessary, the lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. The cookie policy sets out what is set and what is not.
Who We Share It With
The trade we match your enquiry to. This is the point of the service. They receive the details you submitted so they can contact you about the job, and once they have them they are a separate data controller: what they then do with your details is governed by their own privacy policy, not this one.
Our technical providers, who process data on our instructions only: Cloudflare, which hosts the site, stores submissions and provides the bot protection on the form.
Anyone we are legally required to disclose to. We do not sell your information, we do not add you to a marketing list, and we do not pass it to anyone outside the purpose described here.
How Long We Keep It
Enquiries are kept for 24 months from the date they are submitted, then deleted. That period covers the normal life of a building project and any question that arises afterwards about an introduction we made.
Technical logs are kept for a short period for security and diagnosis. If you ask us to delete your enquiry sooner, we will, unless we are required to keep it.
Your Rights
Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, ask for it in a portable format, and object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests.
Ask by emailing info@rcrobuilding.uk. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If we have already passed your enquiry to a trade and you want them to delete it too, tell us and we will pass the request on, but you may also need to ask them directly, because at that point they hold it in their own right.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, which is the UK supervisory authority. We would rather you raised it with us first so we can put it right.
Changes And Contact
If this policy changes, the revised version appears on this page. Material changes to how we share enquiry data will be described rather than quietly substituted.
